Jam’iyyar PDP A Nageriya

Tun bayan juyin mulkin da sojoji suka yi a shekarar 1984 wanda ya kawo ƙarshen mulkin farar hula a wancan lokacin, sojojin ne suka ci gaba da jan ragamar shugabancin ƙasar. Duk da cewa an samu wasu daga cikin shugabannin mulkin soja waɗanda suka yi yunƙurin gudanar da wani irin tsarin mulki mai kama da angulu da kan zabo, Misali; Janar Babangida da kuma Janar Abacha, amma wannan yuƙuri nasu bai yi tasiri ba (ɗangulbi, 2003).

An fara tunanin kafa jam’iyyar PDP ne daga wani dogon nazari da ƙungiyar waɗansu mutane mai mambobi sha takwas waɗanda suka kira kansu da suna G-18 suka yi kan irin yadda al’amuran ƙasar nan ke tafiyar hawainiya a wancan lokaci ƙarƙashin mulkin soja, wannan yananyin mulki na soja mambobin suke gani ya haifar da koma baya ga harkokin tafiyar da ƙasar.

A watan Fabrairu na shekarar 1998, sai mambobin suka yanke shawarar rubuta wa shugaban mulkin soja na wancan lokaci wato janar Abacha takarda mai ɗauke da bayanan irin ɗimbin matsalolin da ƙasar ke ciki, da kuma irin halin damuwa da al’ummar ƙasar ke ciki na ƙuncin rayuwa. Haka kuma, takardar tasu ta ƙunshi bayanai da suka nuna rashin jin daɗinsu kan yadda janar Abacha ya tilasta wa jam’iyyu biyar ɗin da aka kafa a lokacinsa tsayar da shi a matsayin ɗan takaran shugaban ƙasa, a wani yunƙuri nasa na komawa mulkin farar hula.

Wata guda bayan wannan takarda da G-18 suka rubuta wa shugaba Abacha, sai nan suka ci gaba da tuntubar wasu masu ra’ayi irin nasu, kafin wani lokaci sun samu ƙarin magoya baya. Bayan nan sai suka sake rubuta wa shugaban ƙasa takarda, amma a wannan lokaci sun kai su talatin da huɗu, inda suka yi wa kansu laƙabi da G-34.

Ana cikin wannan yanayi ne, sai kwatsam aka ji sanarwar mutuwar shugaba ƙasa Janar Abacha ranar 8 ga watan Yuni, 1998, wanda hakan ne ya kawo ƙarshen yunƙurin wannan gwamnati na zarcewa da mulki a tsarin farar hula. Bayan Janar Abdulsalami Abubakar ya karbi ragamar mulkin ƙasar, sai ya samar da hanyoyin tuntubar juna a tsakanin ƙungiyoyin siyasa daban-daban, wanda a ƙarshe dai aka samu matsaya kan miƙa mulki hannun farar hula.

Shugaba Abdulsalami kuma ya kafa kwamitin da zai yi aiki har na tsawon watanni goma sha ɗaya wajen tsara yadda za a miƙa mulki, wanda kuma zai ƙare aikinsa ranar 29 ga watan Mayu, 1999.

Wannan ƙungiya ta G-34 ta ci gaba da yaɗa manufarta na fafutukar komawa ga mulkin dimokuraɗiyya, inda ta yi nasarar samun haɗin kan wasu ƙungiyoyin siyasa da dama.

A ranar 19 ga watan Agusta, 1998 waɗannan ƙungiyoyi suka gudanar da taro a wani ɗakin taro da ke otal ɗin Sheraton a birnin Abuja, inda suka yi matsaya, kuma suka amince da zama ƙarƙashin inuwa guda ta hanyar kafa jam’iyyar siyasa wadda za ta shiga zaben shugaban ƙasa a fafata da ita. ƙungiyoyi da dama ne suka dunƙule wuri guda. Fitattu daga cikinsu su ne: All Nigerian Congress (ANC) da People Consultatibe Forum (PCF) da Social Progressibe Party (SPP) da People National Front (PNF) da wasu da dama ne su ne suka haɗu suka kafa jam’iyyar da aTurance ake kira People Democratic Party (PDP).

An yi bukin ƙaddamar da jam’iyyar ranar 31 ga watan Agusta, 1998 a babban ɗakin taro na ƙasa da ƙasa (International Conference Centre) da ke Abuja, inda aka sanya Cif Dr Aleɗ Ekwueme a matsayin shugaban kwamitin gudanarwa, sai kuma Farfesa Jerry Gana a matsayin sakataren kwamitin (Odunayo, 2016).
